Hey there everyone. Hope the holidays are going well and that you're all enjoying yourselves (I know I am!!) and that you're with the ones you most love or that you're in good company in general. I love x-mas and am thoroughly enjoying myself. It might seem weird to start a blog now but I'd been working on some ready made content and things just sort of clicked. Also my grandad is round and I thought I'd do something productive while I'm in downtime. But anyway just thought I'd post what I'd got for christmas mostly for the gaming related things. Gaming wise it's been a good year for presents.
So far I've gotten for DS: Lux-Pain and Yoshi's Island DS. For Xbox 360: Tekken 6. For PS1: Parasite Eve II and Tekken 3. For PS2: Ico
Currently I am not playing at the minute as my brother has decided to be extremely festive and indulge in some old school Resident Evil 2 action, making zombie noises no less.
All this festive gaming got me thinking about what the best game I ever got for christmas. It may also spark off some memories for you too. Feel free to share them in the comment box. Also are there any really bad games that were brought for you. Are there any horrific memories to go along with the golden ones?
The best game I ever had for Christmas belongs to Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance. It's one of my favourite games of all time. I actually saw the Japanese preview of it in N64 Magazine (the predecessor to NGC and Ngamer magazine, natch) and loved the style of it (I'm a huge anime fan so I liked the way that the characters had a similar style!) and I remember being blown away by everything. The graphics, the story, the characters, the soundtrack (one of my favourite ones) and the awesomeness never let up. I would award it a perfect 10/10 because I love it that much. It does everything right.
I've been quite lucky as people usually give me money if they don't know what I want or know enough about games. I'd say the worst one was Spyro: Season of Ice for Gameboy Advance. It isn't a bad game necessarily. It's just the isometric view doesn't quite work for me and it sometimes leads to confusion.
Anyway that's a quick christmas update from me. Coming soon I shall be doing a few reviews and previews of video games. For the preview, all I can say is that it's a highly anticipated PS3 game which ISN'T Final Fantasy XIII!
Anyway peace out guys.
Have some fun holiday gaming.

I'm pretty sure that Mortal Kombat would have rated in the top level of my Christmas presents, but also i seem to remember playing a lot of Diablo at Christmas. And to be honest, i'd play Diablo forever man. it Rocks!!!
ReplyDeleteJust out of interest which Mortal Kombat game was it? It's weird Diablo is one of the series that I never got around to playing but no matter who I speak to I always hear good things. I guess I'll have to start the series soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you loads for commenting though Chris. I didn't expect that I would get any manner of attention for awhile - I shall have a preview of Heavy Rain coming up - a feature on motion control in gaming and a few top ten lists.
BRILLIANT STUFF! Keep the blog up, it's VERY entertaining so far!
ReplyDeleteThe best Christmas game I ever got HAS to be the Super Nintendo along with Starwing two years ago. Okay, technically NOT a Christmas present, but it WAS in December and is the best gaming gift i've yet to recieve!
The Nintendo DS with Spirit Tracks and Sonic Rush Adventure of 2009 WILL give the SNES a run for its money!
